Spectacular new Boardwalk Snakes across Neabsco Creek

Scheduled to open in early 2019, this 3/4-mile walkway will become a jewel on the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail in Woodbridge! It will link the Rippon Lodge/Blackburn Road area with the Metz Wetlands/Leesylvania Park.


The 2nd video is taken from the opposite side, (Metz Wetlands/Neabsco Road). The construction has not yet reached the shore, but is getting close. The workers bootstrap their way across, using the just-completed section to build the next. The construction machinery is visible at the beginning of the video. The section at the end of the video is the same as in the first video from the Blackburn Road side.

Triple Tunnel Trail at Tysons

As part of VDOT's widening of Route 7 at the Dulles Toll Road, new trails have recently opened, including this triple-tunnel underpass of three ramps on the south side of the intersection.  As part of the project, the trail will parallel Route 7 the entire distance across Fairfax County. Also, it will connect to an existing trail along Lewinsville Road. This currently goes the entire length of the road except for the last 1000 feet to Route 7. Once complete, it will link the Spring Hill Metro Center with the Spring Hill Recreation Center, which connects to the Potomac Heritage Trail along the Bullneck Stream Valley Trail system.
